Chanel dentelle precieuse illuminating powder

The minute I saw an image of this powder from the internet, I knew it had to be mine. I called up Chanel's Makeup Studio in Sydney City Myer and the rest was destiny. Need I really say more? Your thinking about popping in to a counter for a swatch aren't you? For girls who don't live near a Chanel Makeup Studio, read on for more photos and swatches.

As you would probably guess, I don't go into the city all that often now that I always have a "plus one". So as you can see from this haul photo, I really took advantage of this rare opportunity and my husband's credit card. I'm already buying a shit expensive face powder, hey! why stop there. Right?

Now here is the star powder in all it's glory...

Yup, I've done the unthinkable swished my little digits in the powder
This years limited edition powder is a golden highlight which I think is genius as last years Poudre Signee de Chanel was a white sheen. This way they will attract a lot of return customers as well as new customers. The printed pattern is of a lace detail and as you open the compact, you'd swear there was a layer of real lace over it. That's how minutely detailed this pattern is. There is no overspray this time making first application less awkward (no guess work, what you see is what you get) and the slight colour difference throughout the powder is very complimentary to each other rather than challenge. (You can see below in the previous powders that some powders have quite a big contrast between the colours in the compact).

The shimmer is soft and natural, no noticeable chunks or glitter particles. The powder is very finely milled, making application very smooth. This also means that it is a light and sheet product, opting for a more natural glow effect. It's not particularly long wearing for me, but as a oily skinned gal, not many lightly formulated products lasts on my skin all day long. This can be forgiven for an illuminator as your skin's natural oils will have started to peek through your foundation by the time this product begins to wear off.

This powder cost $90for 6g of product. The size of these powders are getting less and less. Last year was 8g and I'm sure I own some which are 10g. None the less, it is a beauty that you don't want to miss out on.

Do I wish I could buy another one just to stare at and never use? Yessirree!
