Bobbi Brown Bronze Eye Palette

This palette came out in Australia along with two other palettes around beginning of February. I remember receiving an email featuring these palettes as valentine's gift ideas. I didn't think much of it as it just looked like any other ol' neutral palette. And let's be honest here, I'm really not in need of anymore eyeshadows. So have a guess what I did when I walked past a Bobbi Brown counter (still not interested at this point) and gave the shadows a little swatch. Yup, that's right. Told the SA to shut up and take my money. Well...I didn't tell her to shut up because that would just be rude but I did drop my credit card on the counter and uttered the shopaholic's default speech setting "I'll take it".

If you are familiar with Bobbi Brown, you'd either have heard of or know from experience the amazing spot-on quality of her products. He eyeshadow palettes don't differ from her permanent range in any way if not be even better. The packaging is a new metal magnetic enclosure which I love and believe is more sleek than the original black plastic packaging secured by a clip. It is highly reflective and looks a million bucks. Or 80.

Monthly Marvels: February 2014

Yet another month has gone by. Time really does fly when you have a baby to look after. You get into a routine of feed, playtime, nap, feed, playtime and nap. February has also been a huge month of makeup shopping. There are so many products that I want to get through but I just have the one face and one application per day so there is no way that I could get through all my cosmetics. I still haven't touched a lot of the Chanel, Benefit and Dior products that I featured in a high end haul end of last month.

Here are the products that I have been thoroughly enjoying throughout the entire month of February.

Tom Ford Lip Colour in Pink Dusk, Spanish Pink and Sable Smoke

Last month I went a little psycho in Tom Ford and picked up two lipsticks in this haul here. Since then, before I could give you guys a review and swatches, I went out and got another one. That is how amazing Tom Ford's lipsticks are.

In my previous haul, I bought Pink Dusk and Spanish Pink. Just a little over a week ago, I picked up Sable Smoke which has now become my everyday-all-occassions lipstick. I don't want to ever be without it. I would wear it to bed if it wasn't so damn expensive.

The price does make me cringe every time I think about it. They are amazing in texture, colour and appearance. But can any lipstick be worth $65? I don't think it could ever be justifiable. I guess it will just have to remain that "special gift for that special occasion" kind of purchase.

So without further ado, these are the lip shades I now own.

Mecca Haul

I have been terrible this month. I practiced no self restraint at all. It's shameful! I even shocked myself when I added up all my beauty related purchases from my credit card bill. *cringe* But would I take any of it back? Hell NO!

I've popped into Mecca a couple of times during February and accumulated a few goodies of late. Of course it doesn't help that Mecca is just near where my husband works so every time I meet him for lunch, my credit card also has a date with Mecca Cosmetica.

Forever Young with Chanel Le Lift

Everytime I would walk past the Chanel beauty counter, I can't help myself but go open and get a whiff of the new Chanel Le Lift moisturizer. It's like a drug fueling my inability to stop buying beauty products I just have too much of already.

Diorshow Fusion Mono Longwear Eyeshadow Pots

Wowzers, what a long name! But like the name suggests, it is an extremely longwearing cream eyeshadow that is well worth it's price tag ($50 AUD).

Make Up Geek Eyeshadow Swatches

I made a little order from Makeup Geek a few weeks ago and I'm so excited to share with you what a little treasure I have discovered. Makeup Geek eyeshadows have been raved about in the beauty world for a long time and I've never bought into it as I always thought I had enough eyeshadow to last my whole life time. But ever since I started this blog, nothing was ever enough, there is always room for more that I could review, swatch and experiment with.

Chantecaille Save The Bees Palette

(im)patiently awaiting for Mecca Cosmetica to stock this new limited edition Chantecaille palette.
I just love it even more because it has eyeshadow, a highlighter and a blush rather than just eyeshadows like in the previous palettes.

I've never used any Chantecaille before but I have swatched their eyeshadows and my goodness is it buttery and creamy and soft and pigmented and shimmery and...and...and....just amazing!

Would anyone happen to know how much these limited edition sell for in Australia? If you have bought the wild horses palette, or save the sharks palette before please let me know!

UPDATE: Here is an in-depth review of this palette with swatches and application.
